One could say that Alt Balaji has made a name for themselves by creating explicit content regularly. While you cannot deny that other platforms have also done this from time to time it feels like almost all of the titles that come from this platform are filled with such voyeurism and it doesn’t contribute much to the story. ‘Bang Baang’ may not be on the same lines but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t turned heads in the wrong way.
Alt Balaji’s latest show Bang Baang seems like another marketing gimmick by the platform as it stars Faisu who was famous for his tik Tok videos and also the centre of attraction for a lot of controversies. While not trying to insinuate anything it just feels like Faisu was cast in the lead role simply because of the following he had gained rather than his actual acting potential.
I shouldn’t judge anything before I have seen ‘Bang Baang’ but I am pretty sure that many people were way more apt for this role. Even after seeing the teaser of this series you feel like it is only going to be another disappointment as Both Faisu and Ruhi Singh who are the main leads in the series seem out of place and the dialogues seem laborious.
Ekta Kapoor in a candid interview with Rajiv Masand had herself disclosed that there are three faces to every Indian viewer. The friends face, the family face, and the solo face. We watch very different content depending upon the situation we are in even if we would not like to disclose it but such work only gives rise to mediocre content and makes you question whether the morality of the audience is being respected enough to show them true stories or are, we just being fed content which satisfies someone else’s capitalist cravings.
