Indian tv producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, announced their exits from ALTBalaji as the platform’s heads on Friday. The former shared a press release on her Instagram account to confirm the news. Vivek Koka has replaced the mother-daughter duo and is the new Chief Business Officer of the OTT service. And it seems like the streaming platform has already started undergoing a lot of changes under the new regime, starting from the new logo. Yup, ALTBalaji is now ALTT!
The OTT platform announced its new logo via social media on Saturday with the caption:
“We are proud to share our new identity with a bold and dynamic new look. This new logo represents our commitment to delivering exceptional stories, experiences and entertainment to you, our audience.”

People’s reaction towards the change in ALTBalaji’s regime is not very enthusiastic. Most of them believe that Koka’s leadership will not be different from his predecessors. In other words, we can say that the service will not change its current way of functioning, even if it has a new head now.
ALTBalaji has gained a notorious reputation for over-relying on adult content and verbal vulgarity. It is not like other OTT platforms have not tried taking advantage of this strategy in the last few years. Some of them are still doing it. Because they know they cannot defeat well-established streaming giants like Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix, Prime Video, and many more, in terms of viewership in India.
Yup, ALTBalaji has become ALTT now. But will it change anything for the streaming service? Will Koka be able to rejuvenate ALTBalaji’s content? Let’s wait and watch! Stay tuned for more updates.
