‘The Teacher’ will be Amala Paul’s return to Malayalam cinema after some time and it seems she couldn’t have chosen a better movie. The well-cut trailer is impactful and Amala is pitch-perfect in her role as a survivor in this thriller.
‘The Teacher‘ is billed as a revenge drama with thriller elements. In the trailer, we are introduced to Amala Paul’s character who is a Physical Education teacher at a school. Her seemingly perfect life is put for a toss by the hinted existence of her private video. With her personal and professional life badly affected by the probable release of the video, how she gets her revenge and rises from the ashes to build back her life is expected to be the plot of the movie. The tagline of the movie reads” Never Forgive. Never Forget”.
The movie is directed by ‘Athiran’ director Vivek and is penned by him along with the ‘Take Off’ writer PV Shaji Kumar. With Vivek’s directorial debut starring Fahad Faasil and Sai Pallavi becoming a critical and commercial success, there are high hopes for ‘The Teacher’.
Apart from Amala Paul, ‘The Teacher’ also features the actors Manju Pillai, Chemban Vinod Jose, Hakeem Shajahan, Prashanth Murali, Nandu, Hareesh Pengan, Anumol, Mala Parvathy, and Vineetha Koshy in pivotal roles. The movie will be released in theatres on December 2, 2022.
Amala Paul’s last Malayalam film was 2017’s ‘Achayanas’. While she was still doing great work in other South-Indian film industries, she surprisingly has a lot of Malayalam films up for release. She will be seen in Mammootty starrer police drama ‘Christopher’ and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s epic survival drama ‘Aadujeevitham’, based on the novel of the same name by Benyamin. She has also signed up for ‘Pusha: The Rise’ producer Mythri Movie Makers’ Malayalam movie titled ‘Dvija’.
