Amazon Studios has swooped in to grab an interesting project starring top Hollywood stars, before competition even got a chance to bid for it. Titled ‘Heads Of State’, the action film will star A-listers, Idris Elba and John Cena in the lead.
Amazon Studios picked up Heads of State, after a Zoom pitch presentation with the writer of the movie, Harrison Query, the actors Elba and Cena, and the producers, Peter Safran and John Rickard, of the Safran Company. Amazon has committed a deal to the tune of a high six figure or low seven figure to the writer of Heads Of State. Amazon swung into action to grab the movie, thus effectively halting further pitches for the project.
Heads Of State is apparently a high octane action thriller in the style of the nineties. The film intends to cash in on the chemistry between its two stars, Idris Elba and John Cena. Producer Safran became aware of the chemistry between the two in the other movie he is producing with Elba and Cena – The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn.
As per Deadline, Heads Of State will be like “Air Force One meets Hobbs and Shaw, with the two stars playing an odd couple forced to work together through a high stakes situation.”
