Amazon Prime Video has dropped the teaser for Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film ‘Dybbuk’ and it gives those super terrifying feels. Remake of the Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priya Anand’s Malayalam film ‘Ezra’, ‘Dybbuk’ will be helmed by Jay Krishnan who also directed the original version.
The teaser begins with visual of a mysterious looking wooden box in the foreground while a dreadful music plays in the background. The next frame sees Mahi (Nikita Dutta), a newly married woman who bought this antique Jewish box, opening it with a key and from there we enter the next scene where her husband Sam (Emraan Hashmi) wakes up from sleep after hearing the sound of glass cracking.
‘Dybbuk’ follows a young newly married couple, Mahi and Sam, whose life turns into a nightmare after the wife brings home an antique Jewish box. They start experiencing paranormal activities and soon learn that the box is a ‘Dybbuk’ and contains an evil spirit. They then seek a rabbi’s help to unravel the mystery and find a solution. It all gets more complex and horrifying as Mahi and Sam are expecting a baby soon. Will they be able to save themselves and the child before it enters the world?
Emraan Hashmi, Nikita Dutta, Darshana Banik, Manav Kaul and Vipin Sharma star in prominent roles in ‘Dyybuk’ that is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 29th October, 2021.
‘Dybbuk’ has been bankrolled by Bhushan and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, and Abhishek and Kumar Mangat Pathak. The supernatural horro thriller film is apart form Amazon Prime Video’s new releases for this festive season.
Emraan has been busy lately and in the buzz for more than one reason. His Amitabh Bachchan co-starrer ‘Chehre’ released in theatres, then there’s ‘Tiger 3’ in which he will be sharing screen with Salman Khan, his cameo in Alia Bhatt starrer Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and now ‘Dybbuk’ going for digital release on Amazon Prime Video.
