Amazon MX Player has launched the trailer of its upcoming original series ‘Lafangey’ that once again clinches to the same old tropes of dreams, aspirations and opportunities. Directed by Prem Mistry and Abhishhek Yadav, ‘Lafangey’ will premiere on Amazon MX Player on 6th June, 2025.
The trailer shows ‘Lafangey’ is set in Noida where three childhood friends Chaitanya, Rohan and Kamlesh finished their college two years ago but are still struggling in their own ways. While one aspires to be an actor but is stuck in the small family business, the second one is trying his luck with government jobs but for no avail, and the third one is tired of giving interviews for a corporate job with no result.
Navigating through the trials of adulthood while tackling societal pressure and personal dreams, these three friends find themselves entangled in a web of career woes, romantic upheavals and familial expectations. As they grapple with the harsh realities of life, even drifting towards wrong paths at times they must make a way out of it without waiting for opportunities and rather create one for themselves.
‘Lafangey’ is a coming-of-age show that relies on the same old adulting drama which has been overused as a theme now. We have repetitively seen such stuff where young adults have absolutely no idea what they are doing with their lives and if they are even headed in right direction. Often getting depressed and then one incident is enough to shake things up. How ‘Lafangey’ is going to be any different will be interesting to see.
