Amazon Prime has launched a much affordable mobile plan for rupees 599 per year only for Indian users. It will be available to access from the Prime Video app or the official website of the platform. Video content will be available to watch on Standard Definition (SD)-480p and if you want to watch Higher Resolution (HD) content you have to subscribe to the current Prime Video Plans. Users will be able to watch live cricket matches, Amazon originals along with Indian and international movies and shows.
With this new plan of the mobile edition of Prime Video, there will be the ease of downloading movies and shows for offline viewing.
The first mobile plan of Amazon Prime was launched in 2021 in partnership with Bharti Airtel which allowed the users to watch video content in SD quality. Now that Amazon has launched this plan officially, everybody can subscribe to it. And the Amazon Prime streaming plan was available to prepaid Airtel users. The prepaid plans of Airtel included a monthly 89 rupees subscription of Amazon Prime mobile subscription.
There is a monthly plan of 179 rupees for Amazon Prime, and a quarterly plan of 459 rupees. The yearly plan costs rupees 14,99 and it is much better if you want a longer plan.
Amazon Prime Video is one of the biggest OTT platforms in India and these strategies may make it easier for them to create a monopoly. India has a huge number of smartphone users and a majority of them would like to subscribe to Amazon Prime plans with their mobiles. This affordable plan will help the users too and it will increase the subscriber base of the platform.
