Allu Arjun’s Pushpa is registering excellent revenues in the North Indian belt. The film has grossed well over Rs 50 crores already and is showing no signs of slowing down just yet. The Allu Arjun starrer is expected to have a longer run at the box office in the Hindi circuit. But cut to now, Amazon Prime Video is apparently on the verge of orchestrating an early OTT release for Pushpa: The Rise.
As per reports, Pushpa: The Rise is apparently on course for Amazon Prime premieres on the 7th of January 2022. This is exactly 3 weeks post the theatrical release of the Sukumar directorial. It is heard that Amazon Prime Video is ready to trigger the early OTT release clause in the agreement signed with the makers of Pushap. The idea is to cash in on the pan-India craze and hype garnered by Pushpa: The Rise.
Incidentally, Pushpa: The Rise is posting decent revenues in the regional market. While a full recovery in Andhra Pradesh is out of the question, the film is holding well in the Nizam region. The film registered housefuls in many major centers across the state in the New Year weekend, which is a positive sign. The makers have stated that the film has already grossed Rs 300 crores worldwide.
It would be really interesting to see if the makers of Pushpa: The Rise will be lured into agreeing to the early OTT release clause that is being orchestrated by Amazon Prime Video. If they do, we can expect Pushpa: The Rise to arrive on Amazon Prime Video on the 7th of January, or if that isn’t feasible at least in the second week of January.
