Critically raved Malayalam language claustrophobic-domestic thriller ‘Udal‘ (translated as body) is coming soon to Amazon Prime Video. The edge of the seat domestic thriller drama had a theatrical release on 20th May 2022 but met with disastrous reception at the box-office. Amazon Prime has now acquired the streaming rights of the film and is most likely to be out in the month of July itself.
Udal is written and directed by Ratheesh Raghunandan. The film follows Shiny (Durga Krishna) , who looks after her bedridden mother-in-law and lives along with her father-in-law Kuttichan (Indrans). Things turn complicated and tensions arise pushing Shiny to an edge where she cannot take it anymore. Besides being extremely claustrophobic, the film also received an A certificate for its sexually explicit content, obscene language, and violent scenes. It is thereby recommended better to watch Udal without children.
Udal stars Dhyan Sreenivasan, Durga Krishna and Indrans in main roles. The film is bank-rolled by Gokulam Gopalan. Cinematography is handled by Manoj Pillai, Nishad Yousaf handled the editing and William Francis composed the music and background score. More details on the exact streaming date of the film will be out soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
