Amazon Prime Video Ready to Roll The Wilds for a Brand New Season

The Wilds came out recently on Amazon Prime Video and it is Prime Video’s first YA series. The show being the first in the YA genre for Prime has done extensively well, as the reviews and ratings are observed. Brace yourselves people, Amazon has ordered a second season for the show now and it seems it will get even more interesting as the second season rolls in. The announcement was done by the cast of the show on their social media handles and also the social media accounts of “The Wilds” took part in it.

People have said that they did a leap of faith by investing their time in this brand new show as people were completely unaware of what the show will consist of and what it will end up with. There were various questions people had and as the reviews and ratings go, it seems like it went pretty well. The Wilds is one of the first YA Amazon Prime Originals to be aired on the streaming platform. The second in line is “Panic” which will also be released in a series format. Bringing in Amazon Prime original YA content was one of the first priorities for Amazon Studios President Jennifer Salke, after she joined the company.

Given how the end was for the girls in the first season, it would have been very disappointing to know that there won’t be any more seasons. The end pretty much brought everything to the surface for the girls that were stranded together on the islands and seems like they would want answers as they reality sinks in (not giving anymore spoilers now!!).

Though this news has come in as a pretty good surprise as Amazon takes a lot of things into consideration before it greenlights another season for a show, which is why sometimes it takes a long time for the viewers to know if their favourite show will ever be renewed or not. But this wasn’t the case for The Wilds. As the show released on the 11th of December, the news for renewal was out on the 19th of December, which is super quick according to “Amazon Standard Time”.

Now, it will be even more interesting to see what the new “dawn of realisation” brings in for this bunch of teenage girls that are stranded on the island. Just hoping, the season comes in quicker too.
