The Reacher series is having a pretty good time on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service so far. Only three days have passed since its premiere, yet it has garnered strong positive reception from the critics and the viewers. Alan Ritchson’s performance as the titular character has been received very well by the audience. Maybe the grand success of the debut season has lured the makers to go for a sophomore season as well. The helmer of the last two Mission: Impossible movies, Christopher McQuarrie, and one of its executive producers, David Ellison, serve as the executive producers for the Amazon Prime series.
The streaming network announced the renewal of Reacher via Twitter today. Season 1’s plot takes its inspiration from Lee Child’s debut novel in the Jack Reacher book series, Killing Floor. It will be interesting to see which novel from Child’s novel series will now be chosen by the makers for the upcoming season.
The first season of Reacher has shattered various steaming records upon its arrival on Amazon Prime Video. It has become one of the top 5 watched shows ever on the streaming platform. Plus, it generated immense viewership within the first 24 hours of its dispatch.
Nick Santora, showrunner and one of the executive producers of the series, showed his excitement for Season 2 via Twitter:
“The entire Reacher team – cast, production, writers, etc. – is so happy with the wonderful reception the show has received. Amazon, Skydance, and Paramount have been such fantastic partners and everyone is excited to roll up their sleeves and get to work on what will be a great Season Two.”
Reacher Season 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It stars Alan Ritchson, Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Bruce McGill, and many more.
