Natural Star Nani’s Tuck Jagadish has decided to skip its theatrical release and stream directly on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon already announced the movie for the September 10th release as Vinayaka Chaviti Special. The OTT major has taken over the promotions from the filmmakers.
Amazon is planning the trailer release event of the film on September 1st. It has booked a private venue for the event. It has sent invitations for the Telugu media but there is a rider. Anyone who is walking into the venue should have a vaccine certificate (double dose).
In case they are not vaccinated, Amazon also offered to schedule a free RT-PCT test at the media personnel’s doorstep. “Request you to share the address and contact number for organizing a door-step sample collection,” the message read. This has been a strange experience for the media because the Telugu press has been roaming to events, theaters, interviews, etc without any strings.
Even though it may have a bit of inconvenience, such rules really are sane to keep everyone safe. Tuck Jagadish is the first major Direct-to-OTT release of the Telugu film industry after the Second Wave. It is also Nani’s back-to-back OTT release after his V last year.
