Last month, we had made our readers aware that Shoojit Sircar’s latest directorial film ‘Sardar Udham’ had not only made its way to the coveted IMDb Top 250 Indian movies list but had also become the top-ranked Indian film released in the year 2021 on IMDb. And now, Amazon Prime Video’s widely acclaimed and intense legal drama film ‘Jai Bhim’ starring Suriya in the lead role has made its way to IMDb’s top 250 Indian movies list.
Not just that, ‘Jai Bhim’ is merely two ranks behind the top-ranked Indian film ‘Sardar Udham’. Currently, ‘Jai Bhim’ ranks 3rd on the IMDb top 250 Indian movies list and holds a highly impressive IMDb user rating of 9.7 based on more than 15000 votes (at the time of writing this article). In doing that, ‘Jai Bhim’ has outranked some other fine Indian films from the year 2021 such as ‘Drishyam 2’, ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’, ‘Shershaah’, ‘Nayattu’, ‘Karnan’, and ‘Joji’, amongst others.
‘Jai Bhim’ is a hard-hitting courtroom investigative drama that revolves around the story of a man from a primitive tribal community who is accused of stealing from an affluent house. Thereafter, he is taken into police custody and eventually goes missing. The man’s pregnant wife takes the help of an upright High Court advocate Chandru (Suriya) to find her missing husband. How the lawyer fights for the justice of the tribal couple, forms the rest of the film’s plot.
‘Jai Bhim’ is being praised for its performances, realistic portrayal, and gripping storytelling. Binged has marked the film as a good watch on Amazon Prime Video and given the film a 3.25/5 rating.
Besides ‘Jai Bhim’, the other thirteen Indian film titles on the current IMDb list from the year 2021 are ‘Sardar Udham’, ‘#Home’ ‘Shershaah’, ‘Mimi’, ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’, ‘Malik’, ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’, ‘Karnan’, ‘Nayattu’, ‘Joji’, ‘Mandela’, ‘Drishyam 2’, and ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’.
