Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Boys Season 3’ Casts Three New Superheroes

You might already be aware of the recent development regarding ‘Supernatural’ star and small screen heartthrob Jensen Ackles being cast as superhero Soldier Boy in ‘The Boys’ Season 3. That his character is the leader of a group called Payback, which was much before Vought created The Seven, led by Homelander (played by Antony Starr).

And now, Amazon Prime Video’s superhero web series ‘The Boys’ has cast its three new superheroes for the show’s third season. These three superheroes, as recurring characters, will purportedly be essayed by actors Sean Patrick Flanery, Nick Wechsler, and Miles Gaston Villanueva.

Sean Patrick Flanery is also a martial artist who is known for playing the lead roles in ‘The Boondock Saints’ films, ‘Powder’, and was also seen in the seventh installment of the ‘Saw’ film franchise. He will be portraying a superhero character called Gunpowder in ‘The Boys’.

While Nick Wechsler, who is known for his role in the television series ‘Revenge’, will reportedly be playing the superhero, Blue Hawk. And ‘Law and Order True Crime’ and ‘The Resident’ actor Miles Gaston Villanueva is said to be stepping into the shoes of a superhero character called Supersonic.

Nothing much has been revealed regarding the details about the superpowers of these three newly added superhero characters. However, as the name suggests, Supersonic’s powers could be related to the power of sound or sound waves. Similarly, Gunpowder’s power could probably pertain to some kind of weapon or explosives or fire. Likewise, Blue Hawk’s powers might possibly entail flying.

Moreover, whether Gunpowder, Blue Hawk, and Supersonic will be members of Jensen Ackles Soldier Boy’s superhero team Payback can only be speculated and remains to be confirmed.

Interestingly, Soldier Boy was already a part of the ‘The Boys’ comic books created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Whereas, the characters Gunpowder, Blue Hawk, and Supersonic are original creations and ostensibly not mentioned in the comics.

Production of ‘The Boys’ Season 3 is already underway. However, Amazon Prime Video is yet to announce the release date of the highly anticipated show. The show’s primary cast (S1 & S2) comprises Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, and Tomer Capon, amongst others.
