Tired of 2020? Well here is an end-of-the-year special for you. Phoebe Robinson is hosting an hour long comedy special titled ‘Yearly Departed’, dissing the terrible (an understatement) year of 2020. She along with seven other prominent female comedians are going to come on this television special to give 2020 the send off it deserves, which will stream online on Amazon Prime Video.
Phoebe Robinson will be joined by Rachel Brosnahan, Tiffany Haddish, Patti Harrison, Natasha Legerro, Sarah Silverman, Natasha Rothwell, and Ziwe on this hour long special. The women will be talking about topics in a funeral style send-off (for the year 2020) and they will give eulogies on various things they “lost” this year, mainly thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. This varies from casual sex, TV Cops, wearing pants to everything in between.
The trailer for the ‘Yearly Departed’ dropped almost a day ago, with Robinson starting off the procession (in the trailer) by calling 2020, “a trifling ‘ho”. We then get an upbeat funeral music with Robinson walking over with an urn which had the name “2020” on it. We then get multiple shots of Haddish, Brosnahan and Legerro at the podium, talking smack about various things that happened during 2020, but Sarah Silverman’s line “Goodbye to the fear, that at any moment the nuclear codes could wind up on twitter” had us cracking. This, of course is a reference about President Trump who seems to tweet pretty much anything, anywhere at any time. But since he lost the 2020 elections, he won’t have a chance to do so as the President of the United States for much longer.
‘Yearly Departed’ hosted by Phoebe Robinson will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video on December 30th 2020. Watch the trailer for this upcoming comedy special down below:
