Animation is one of the best ways to grab people’s attention. Since our childhood we are attracted to animated content on Television and now with the arrival of Japanese animes, the craze for animated content has sky rocketed.
People who are avid follower of Japanese animes will notice that the style of animation has gone through a major change since the 90s and the change is continuous. With the conventional animations in The Simpsons, Scooby-Doo, Bojack Horseman or Rick and Morty to name a few, there have been new adaptations and changeovers in the field of animated movies or shows in the past years.
Recently, Amazon Prime Video came up with a television series starring Bob Odenkirk and Roza Salazar titled Undone. The show followed the concept of Rotoscoping which has been in the entertainment industry for decades. Rotoscoping is a traditional method obtaining animation by tracing over the live action video either digitally or manually. Earlier this was done by the animators who used to trace the photographs of live action movie images onto a glass panel.
While Netflix too have ventured into animation by this time they are coming with a brand new technology through their upcoming war drama series titled The Liberator. Here the animation looks similar in comparison to Prime’s Undone, but the series is being advertised by using a term for the animation called ‘Trioscope’.
Trioscope is the latest technology in the world of animation which has been brought to the world by the animation studio named School of Humans. According to them the Trioscope is
“an evolved iteration of animated imagery created by a new patent-pending technology and innovative platform that makes it possible to achieve a vivid 3D graphic novel look. TRIOSCOPE™ EHA brings a photo-real level of emotion to human faces and unprecedented detail to character movement and action”.
This means that the technology will combine computer generated images with the live action footage so as to give the hybrid outcome more details in movement, clarity etc.
The Liberator has been on the cards for Netflix for a long time and now they have finally released an official trailer for it. Do check it out as it looks beautiful.
The Liberator will be releasing on Netflix on November 11th 2020. And thus we can enjoy the new method of animation then.
