Amazon Prime Video is the home to various originals and is also spending millions of dollars for originals from regions that Amazon didn’t explore before. One of those is Italian films and series. Amazon Prime Video is quite new to the region in terms of originals and it looks like they have made a breakthrough now.
Amazon has unveiled a high concept Italian original film, which is being termed as the first of its kind. The movie will be featuring Italy’s very own pop star Laura Pausini in a never-before-seen avatar. The movie, which is still untitled at the moment, is being directed by Ivan Cotroneo. Ivan is considered one of the top writer-directors of the country. The movie is written by Cotroneo along with his co-writer Monica Rametta. The movie comes from an original idea from Laura Pausini herself. Endemol Shine Italy will be producing the movie
The details and plot of the movie at the moment are still unclear and have been kept under wraps. The shoot for the movie has already begun and it is going on ahead with full force. According to Amazon Studios Italy, the movie will be one of the most unique ones, due to the storytelling it will have. The narrative is something that has never been done before or at least not many have explored it that way. The story reportedly will focus on the professional and personal life of Pausini in the movie.
The upcoming movie is all about perspective and story-telling and the head of Amazon Studios has assured that it is something totally unexplored. Amazon has been investing a lot in regional content and India is one of the prime examples, likewise, Amazon has been investing now in more and more unique European stories. The platform earlier this year had announced its first French slate of movies and series and later also went on to announce the first slate of Italian original movies and series.
This particular aim of Amazon; to bring originals from a regional place, connected with Laura Pausini, and hence, she believed they were the perfect people to tell the story she has had in mind. As for Laura Pausini, she is a big superstar, who has won the prestigious Grammy besides so many awards. She mainly performs in Spanish and Italian and has toured internationally. She is one artist, who has performed with some big names in the industry like Madonna, Michael Buble, and others.
The untitled, Italian original movie will be released sometime in 2022 and will be released in 240 territories. The narrative and story-telling of the movie is something that everyone involved with the movie is talking about. Hence, it will be interesting to see what and how unique the story will be and will it be enough to captivate the audience, will be the question.
