Amazon Studios will officially greenlight their upcoming untitled ‘The Boys’ spin-off series to go into production sometime in the near future, and the casting of ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ star Jaz Sinclair and ‘The Rookie’s’ Lizzie Broadway should help the announcement in the long run. Amazon Prime Video had previously announced this college-themed spin-off last year in September.
This new Amazon Prime Video, comic-book series based spin-off will be set in the same world as ‘The Boys’ which will be focused on America’s only college for young adult supes. The college is made and run by Vought International and it will test the physical, moral and sexual boundaries of all these college supes, while competing with each other for the best contracts in the most popular cities. And although the series will feature a lot of young adult portrayals, the spin-off series will be R-Rated just like the original series, ‘The Boys’.
Lizzie Broadway and Jazz Sinclair will most likely be the lead cast of this series, with both actors expected to portray these young adult supes who go to this Vought International-run college. It will be interesting to see how this series’ showrunner and executive producer, Craig Rosenberg who wrote the infamous Great Whale scene from the second season of ‘The Boys’, will approach this young adult concept show from a Rated-R perspective. The show’s official logline reads as follows – “Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys”.
The third season of ‘The Boys’ is currently in production in Canada, with ‘Supernatural’s’ Jason Ackles joining the cast as Soldier Boy from The Boys comic book series.
