Wayne is coming up on the 6th of November on Amazon Prime Video. The show got picked up from YouTube Red and is marked as YouTube Original. The story of a boy who goes to lengths to get a car back from his mother’s boyfriend because that’s what his dad wanted. Accompanied by his cute girlfriend along the journey the web series sure turns out to be one hell of a comedic one even though it is dark and gruesome.
Wayne in all ways and sorts reminds me of Netflix’s “The End of the Fucking World”, two kids out in the world to get something. But most definitely Wayne seems to have a lot more depth and emotions than the other. Wayne is all over the place, from getting beaten up just for the sake of it to beating up someone else. He likes to get bullied and he bullies back people in a good way, more like schools them. On a mission to get the car back from his estranged mother’s boyfriend, Wayne gets into way more trouble than expected and everybody behind him is out there to save him and his girlfriend, Del. While Del’s father and brothers are on their way to arrest him for getting Del out of the house to travel all the way to Florida, people on Wayne’s side are there not to save Wayne from the world but mostly the world from Wayne.
Such teenage shows that have similar concepts of dark comedy and leads that are socially awkward but have the minds of freaking rebels are always fun and funny to watch. Especially for us grown-up ones, they either remind us of the stupidity we did while growing up or wish we could have done something weird and stupid so that we could also pass on a similar story but that’s not happening to us anymore so we might just watch all this and realize how stupid it could turn out to be if we end up doing something similar now.
Wayne is coming out soon, definitely keep an eye out for him because apparently the guys from Deadpool wrote this and it should be pretty darn good in that manner.
