Prime Video recently announced a two-year plan where they would create non-stop content with biggies such as Shahid Kapoor and will also renew their popular titles. Amongst series which were renewed are The Family Man, Mirzapur, Pataal Lok, Panchayat and more.
In the announcement slate, they did not mention the renewal of the popular coming of age comedy “Hostel Daze”. On Instagram however, they posted a picture with the lead cast of the series thus hinting at its renewal for a third season. We wish that so is the case with Bandish Bandits.
For the unversed, Bandish Bandits debuted in 2020 and was immensely celebrated for its classical music and out of the box thinking. While most other web series relied on abusive words and violence, Bandish Bandits created benchmarks of success through unbelievably beautiful music and a great story.
This was a great innovation by the platform and the performances especially by Naseeruddin Shah, Sheeba Chaddha and Atul Kulkarni were brilliant on a whole next level. The songs such as “Garaj Garaj”, and “Lab Par Aaye” became extremely popular and we can thank the magical composition of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for that.
It was sad that such an innovative musical was not mentioned because the last episode was indeed left on a cliffhanger. But just like Hostel Daze, we still have hope.
Let’s see some of the public reactions.
