After enthralling its fans with Matt Reeves’ dark and stylish rendition of the caped crusader in ‘The Batman’ movie, the superhero is all set to come back with a bang. This time, not in a film or television series but in an eagerly anticipated psychological thriller podcast titled ‘Batman Unburied’.
You may already be aware that a Podcast is an episodic series of spoken words focused on a particular subject ranging from spiritual discussions, travel, sports, business, etc., and also includes fiction storytelling, which the ‘Batman Unburied’ belongs to.
It is apparent from the recently released trailer for the ‘Batman Unburied’ podcast that the upcoming audio series is an absolutely fresh and intriguing take on the origin story of Batman.
In the podcast, Bruce Wayne (voiced by Winston Duke of MCU’s M’Baku fame) is no longer the billionaire playboy. On the contrary, he is portrayed as a forensic pathologist who works at the Gotham City Hospital headed by his father Dr. Thomas Wayne. And he has no memory of being the vigilante hero either.
In the podcast trailer, Bruce Wayne is heard performing an autopsy on the most recent victim of Gotham City’s serial killer known as the Harvester. Later, he is attacked by the dreaded killer himself. Bruce Wayne’s obsession with the killer forces him to take a medical leave and he must save the city again while battling his inner demons.
The ‘Batman Unburied’ podcast series will start streaming globally on Spotify from 3rd May 2022 in nine languages including English and Hindi.
‘Kai Po Che’ actor Amit Sadh has lent his voice as Bruce Wayne aka The Batman for the Indian version of the ‘Batman Unburied’ podcast series. The talented Indian actor was last seen in shows like ‘Jeet Ki Zid’, ‘Avrodh The Siege Within’, and alongside Abhishek Bachchan in Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Breathe: Into The Shadows’.
