Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas Share Mutual Admiration Posts As Project K Begins!

Prabhas’ highly anticipated film with ace director Nag Ashwin has finally gone on the floors today, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. The Vyjajanthi Films’ production will be made on a lavish scale, and is set to become the costliest film ever to be produced in India. Tentatively titled “Project K”, the Prabhas – Nag Ashwin film is touted to be a sci-fi thriller. The project has rustled up excitement among cinema fans, as sci-fi thrillers are an under-explored genre in the Indian content space.

What is even more exciting about Prabhas’ Project K is its casting—or should we say, casting coup. The film features superstar Amitabh Bachchan in a crucial role. He is joined in the film by Bollywood co-alumni, Deepika Padukone. If that isn’t some inspired casting, then what is!

As the film launched today with a small Pooja ceremony, social media followers went into a tizzy with the updates posted by both lead actors on their respective social media handles. Both actors showed off their mutual admiration for each other through their posts, each showering effusive on the other.

Prabhas’ post is especially heartwarming, and shows his awe and respect for the legend that is the Big B. He posted a picture of the clapboard, and the first clap for Project K. The first clap was given by Prabhas himself, and the first shot canned for Project K is with Amitabh Bachchan, apparently. At least that is what we can infer from Prabhas’ post.

This is what he wrote on his Instagram –

“On this #GuruPurnima, it is an honour for me to Clap for the Guru of Indian cinema!… it now begins!! #ProjectK”.

Within no time, Amitabh Bachchan too posted the same picture on his social media, accompanied with high praise for Prabhas, where he referred to the actor as an “icon”.

This is what Amitabh Bachchan wrote –

“.. for the Mahurat shot of #ProjectK .. what an honour to be behind the clap being given by the icon that created cinematic magical waves throughout the Country and the World with Bahubali @actorprabhas,”

The first shooting schedule for Project K is taking place at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. A grand set has been erected for the film, at an extravagant cost. Expectations are high from director Nag Ashwin, given that his last feature film “Mahanati” was an acclaimed blockbuster.
