The OTT rights for Suraj Barjatya’s ‘Uunchai’ are bagged by Zee5 and the film will be streamed on the platform on the 6th of January next year. Suraj Barjatya made his comeback to filmmaking after seven long years with this warm tale of friendship and the movie amazed audiences like all his previous movies.
‘Uunchai’ released in the theaters on November 11 this year and had a pretty good response; it was not a superhit but did a great job compared to many big budget Bollywood movies. It has a nice rating on platforms like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes and the word-of-mouth of the audience had worked out well for the movie.
The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Danny Denzongpa, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher in the lead roles and had actors like Parineeti Chopra and Neena Gupta as supporting actors. The performances of all the actors were commendable. The music of the film was composed by Amit Trivedi and George Joseph and all the songs were nicely written and sung.
‘Uunchai’ tells the story of a very heartwarming friendship. Danny Denzongpa’s character who has a desire to climb Mount Everest his whole life suddenly dies without fulfilling that desire. His three friends played by Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani decide to fulfill his wish. The friends decide to climb Mount Everest in spite of bad health, age and everything else that tries to stop them. They lie to their families, start training hard, and ignore every word that can discourage them, only for friendship.
If you feel the lack of a feel-good movie in Bollywood recently and want to watch a movie that will put a smile on your face, ‘Uunchai’ is the one. If you have missed it during the theater release, now is the time for you to experience it. Uunchai will be available to watch on Zee5 from the 6th of January next year.
