The movie tells the story of an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and his daughter who is taking care of him with all her heart so that his illness does not slip into dementia. His daughter also has to keep handling with problems in her relationship when suddenly he starts babbling about being held responsible of Gandhiji’s murder. Trisha, the daughter, now has to find out what old memory of her father has now been triggered. ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara’ is a wonderfully executed drama with a powerful screenplay.
The movie stars Anupam Kher in the lead role and has actors like Urmila Matondkar, Rajit Kapur, Parvin Dabas, Waheeda Rahman, Prem Chopra, Boman Irani in important roles. The performances are truly convincing. The music is given by Bappi Lahiri and Bappa B. Lahiri, and the cinematography is handled by Raaj Chakravarti.
