Earlier today, on March 8th, everyone’s favourite up and coming Malayalam writer-director Midhun Manuel Thomas took to his Instagram to announce the official onset and the auspicious pooja ceremony of filming the Disney Hotstar special series, titled Anali. Coming off the back of the success of Abraham Ozler, this is his first venture into the realm of web series.
Set against the backdrop of Pala, Kottayam, the series is rumoured to be based off of the infamous Koodathai serial killings, which was adapted into a Netflix docuseries by the name “Curry and Cyanide”, and also explored by the television series “Koodathai”.
The dynamic duo behind the creation of this brainchild, Midhun and John Manthrickal, come together to give rise to a plotline that is filled with mystery and thrill. John, who is known to have assisted Midhun in various movies, gets to showcase his storytelling expertise yet again through Anali. The compelling ensemble cast consists of Nikhila Vimal and Leona Lishoy. Sanu Tahir, the brother of Sameer Tahir is the appointed cinematographer for this series, so you already know the visual magnificence that this series will portray.
The series is slated to be released on Disney Hotstar.
