What could be termed as a bit contentious, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ filmmaker Anand L Rai went on to like a statement from a Twitter user requesting him not to postpone the film’s release date at any cost.
Akshay Kumar starrer comedy drama is all set to release on 11th August, 2022 on the occasion of the festival Raksha Bandhan and the makers are determined for the same. This has become clearer now with the director himself affirming to it with his activity on social media.
This wouldn’t have been relevant until yesterday when Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ makers pushed the film’s release date from 14th April to 11th August 2022 and also paid gratitude to the ‘Adipurush’ team for understanding and vacating the date for them.
Noticing the newborn clash between Akshay Kumar’s ’Raksha Bandhan’ and Aamir Khan’s ’Laal Singh Chaddha’, one of the fans on social media asked the former’s director not to budge and postpone the release whosoever comes “BEGGING”. While these are personal opinions, Anand L Rai showing his support by liking the statement publicly makes quite a strong impression.
Dear @aanandlrai sir kuch bhi karna par RB ko postpone mat karna chahe koi bhi Aug 11 date ke liye apse bheek mangne aaye🙏

This could probably mean two things. If considered critically, it could be possible that he was in fact approached for changes in Raksha Bandhan’s release date to which he did not agree. On the other hand, this could be a mere thankful response to his fans who are eagerly waiting for the film.
Either way what could be an unharmful like, for a statement with a vexed tone, would be enough to spark big controversies in the media circles, raising some pretty uncomfortable questions.
