The Oscar and multiple times Emmy nominated actress Angela Bassett has been cast in Netflix fantasy film “Damsel” fronted by Millie Bobby Brown. The film is directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
The film follows a princess who is taken aback as she discovers that she’ll be sacrificed to the kingdom’s sacred dragon, after her marriage to her prince charming. She now must survive on her own and beat all odds until someone comes to save her which to her dismay doesn’t happen.
The Black Panther actress Angela Bassett plays Lady Bayford, the stepmother to Millie Bobby Brown’s Elodie. The film is written by Dan Mazeau and executive produced by Brown for PCMA Productions.
Bassett is an actor with a meaty acting resume and an a very impressive filmography. She most recently wrapped filming for Marvel’s highly anticipated “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever”. She was last seen in the critically acclaimed action flick “Gunpowder Milkshake”. Other recent releases include a Netflix film titled “Otherhood”, “Black Panther”, “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” and “Bumblebee”. She also is an active presence in the TV scene and recently wrapped filming the fifth season of Fox Hit series “9-1-1” which she also executive produced. Stay tuned for more details on the film.
