Anime enthusiasts, get ready to experience another masterpiece on the big screen!
Warner Bros. India has officially announced that acclaimed anime director Naoko Yamada’s latest film, The Colours Within, will hit Indian theatres on November 22.
Presented in Japanese with English subtitles, the film follows Totsuko, a high school student with synesthesia—a unique ability to see people’s emotions as colours.
Directed by Yamada, famous for A Silent Voice and Liz and the Blue Bird, the film is an original creation by Science Saru, the studio behind Dandadan. The script is written by Reiko Yoshida, known for hits like K-On! and Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction. The music, composed by Kensuke Ushio, who worked on Chainsaw Man and Devilman Crybaby, adds to its charm.
The Colours Within has already garnered critical acclaim, premiering at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and winning the Golden Goblet for Best Animation at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
This year, Warner Bros. India also brought The Boy and the Heron and Look Back to cinemas, both of which were loved deeply by anime fans. The addition of The Colours Within further emphasises the growing popularity and accessibility of anime on the big screen.
As more anime films find their way into theatres, fans can celebrate this exciting growth of the medium in India. It shows that anime is finally getting the recognition it deserves, bringing fresh stories and stunning visuals to fans in India.
