Anna Ben is undoubtedly one of the most in-demand actresses in Malayalam cinema right now. Having already proved her acting prowess and commercial value so early in her career, the actress has created a place of her own in the industry. In the latest news, it seems that one of her upcoming films will see her collaborating with her father and ace screenwriter Benny P. Nayarambalam!
The movie titled ‘Anchu Centum Seleenayum‘ will be directed by ‘Oru Second Class Yatra’ co-director Jexson Antony. The movie is reportedly a slice-of-life film following the story of Ben’s character who dreams of owning a house of her own, after having been living her life in rented houses. Benny has confirmed in an interview to be writing the script of the film. Besides the actress, the movie will also star Shanthi Krishna, Mathew Thomas, and Srinda.
It is to be kept in mind that this is not the first time the actress and her father have worked together in a movie. In Prime Video’s direct OTT release “Sara’s” which stars the actress, the role of her on-screen father was in fact played by her father Ben.
Benny P. Nayarambalam is a veteran screenwriter known for many unforgettable Malayalam films like ‘Kalyanaraman’, ‘Kunjikoonan’, ‘Chanthupottu’, ‘Chotta Mumbai’ and ‘Annan Thambi’ amongst others. Having had a very successful career, most of his films have been blockbusters. His last work as a writer was Mohanlal’s ‘Velipadinte Pusthakam’ in 2017.
Anna Ben had a dream debut in movies in the blockbuster hit ‘Kumbalangi Nights’. She quickly followed it with films like the hits like ‘Helen’ and Saras, solidifying her place in the business. Barely being in the industry for barely 4 years, the actress has already won 2 Kerala State Awards and is a force to reckon with onscreen. The actress’s last release was the thriller ‘Night Drive’, which ended up a moderate box-office success.
