Will This Regional Movie Meet the Same Fate as Others on OTT Release?

OTT platforms are not letting go of any opportunity to pick up contents during the lockdown and this time it’s Zee5 that has picked up a Tamil movie starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Earlier Prakash Jha’s Pareeksha – the final test made it to the list.

The story in ‘Danny’ is about a police investigation that involves a sniffer dog with the same name aa that of the movie.The film is touted to be a murder mystery that happens in and around Thanjavur. Varalaxmi plays the role of a no-nonsense cop working on a shocking murder case, where a suspicious husband kills his wife. The film has been written and directed by LC Santhanamoorthy and Sayaji Shinde and Vela Ramamoorthy also feature in the film.

A teaser for the film was uploaded on YouTube in December 2019. No further information about the release date of the movie has been announced as of yet. By touting it as a Zee5 original the streaming platform now likely holds, among others, dubbing, satellite and/or remake rights for the concerned films.
