Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania becomes MCU’s second-lowest rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 55% (based on 121 reviews).
Ant-Man 3’s early reactions were highly positive, hailing the upcoming Paul Rudd starrer as one of the most innovative MCU films ever. Apart from giving a bumpy start to Phase Five, the film’s ‘rotten’ score has made things worse for Marvel Studios.
Chloe Zhao’s Eternals was the first-ever Marvel to receive a ‘rotten’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, 47% (based on 403 reviews).
Most critics believe that the Littlest Avenger is nothing more than a prop in the film that sets up Kang the Conqueror, Marvel’s next big baddie after Thanos. Additionally, Peyton Reed’s direction and Jeff Loveness’ script have received criticism. Although, the performances of Jonathan Majors, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Kathryn Newton were praised.
The third Ant-Man film looks way different from previous entries. Also, it tries to go big. The first two movies were more light-hearted and dealt with villains who were not as big of a threat as Kang the Conqueror. But the third entry changes the entire tone of the franchise.
Some critics have declared the film’s climax sequence overlong and exhausting. Plus, the action sequences lack thrill and suspense.
The father-daughter relationship between Scott and Cassie has been portrayed beautifully in Quantumania. Our little guy tries hard to be a good and loving father. And his daughter proves her worth when it comes down to utilising shrinking abilities like her father and taking down the bad guys.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will release globally on February 17. Stay tuned for more updates.
