The powerhouse team of Mollywood- Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph, yet again made history! Jeethu Joseph’s movie, ‘Neru,’ featuring Mohanlal, has achieved an impressive milestone by joining the 100 crore club within a mere 25 days. The film, exhibited in 500 theaters across India and 400 theaters internationally, has achieved widespread acclaim. Inspired by the success of ‘Neru,’ Antony Perumbavoor and his son, Aashish Joe Antony, have opted to produce the film in multiple languages.
“Neru” signifies the duo’s fifth collaboration between Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph, building on their successful ventures like “Drishyam-1,” “Drishyam-2,” “Twelfth Man,” and the much-anticipated “Ram.” The rights for streaming “Neru” have been secured by Disney + Hotstar and the expected OTT release date is speculated to be within 2 weeks. The satellite rights of this Mohanlal-starrer has been procured by Asianet, although official confirmations are yet to be made.
Playing on screens right from last Christmas, ‘Neru’ emerged as a major hit, closing 2023 as the final blockbuster in the Malayalam film industry. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas, with Aashish Joe Antony serving as the co-producer, the film showcases Mohanlal delivering an outstanding performance as an advocate.
Anaswara Rajan’s role in ‘Neru’ is also commendable, marking her career-best portrayal in the movie. The success of ‘Neru’ signifies a milestone for the entire team and positions Aashirvad Cinemas for broader collaborations in the regional cinema.
