After mistakenly releasing the teaser yesterday for a very short while and then deleting it later, Disney+ Hotstar has now officially dropped the teaser announcing its latest show ‘Bad Cop’ starring Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah in lead roles. ‘Bad Cop’ is the first fiction web series for Fremantle India known for making shows like ‘India’s Got Talent’ and ‘Indian Idol’.
‘Bad Cop’ teaser beginning will remind you a bit of ‘Mirzapur’ as Kazbe (Anurag Kashyap) asks a man to recite alphabets and as soon he starts to do so he asks him what starts with Hindi alphabet “क”. Kazbe is a shown as a dreadful, eccentric, nefarious and a quintessential villain of the series.
On the other hand is Karan (Gulshan Devaiah) a fierce cop trying to chase down Kazbe, a villain more powerful and deadly than him while simultaneously managing his personal relationships. The show’s a hardcore classic cop vs villain chase, but with a fun twist. ‘Bad Cop’ is touted to have high octane action, eccentric characters and is a complete entertainer.
Directed by Aditya Dutt (‘Crakk’), ‘Bad Cop’ is an adaptation of RTL’s German show “Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut” (2017) and is written by Rensil D’Silva (‘Bambai Meri Jaan’) who has restructured the setting and characters according to Indian scenario. The cast also includes Harleen Sethi (‘Kohrra’, ‘Broken But Beautiful’), Saurabh Sachdeva (‘Animal’) and Aishwarya Sushmita (‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’).
‘Bad Cop’ looks intriguing and the cast choice makes it even more interesting. Both Kashyap and Devaiah are known for their skills in direction and acting respectively. Kashyap who has made projects like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, ‘Sacred Games’ and more, has been seen acting in films like ‘AK vs AK’. Devaiah on the other hand has proved his mettle in his works like ‘Hunterrr’, ‘Shaitan’, ‘Hate Story’, ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, ‘Dahaad’, ‘Duranga’ and more.
