Various Indian film personalities have been invited for the 12th edition of the BMO International Film Festival of South Asia that will be held in Toronto on October 12 to 22. Anurag Kashyap, Sunny Leone, Taapsee Pannu, Rahul Bhat, Ranjan Singh, Anup Singh, Don Palathara, and Sami Khan are in the guest list for the event.
There are a total of 120 films that will be competing or screened in the Film Festival in these few days. There will also be almost 30 events in all. Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film ‘Kennedy’ is among other films in the list. It stars Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat, both of them are in the guest list. Kanu Bahl’s much acclaimed movie ‘Agra’ too is in the list. Manoj Bajpayee’s award winning movie ‘Joram’ will be competing in the event. Some other films are ‘Ghaath’, ‘Family’ and ‘Aatmapamphlet’.
Apart from these Indian titles, Natasha Humayun’s acclaimed Bangladeshi web series ‘Pet Kata Shaw’ will be there too. Riz Ahmed and Jordan Peele had previously backed this project. There are other Bangladeshi projects like Fuad Chowdhury’s ‘Meghna Konnya’. From Pakistan, there is ‘Daira: Rim of Life’ by Osman Rafiq. Jagath Manuwarna’s Sri Lankan film ‘Whispering Mountains’ will be there too.
The International Film Festival Of South Asia is a pretty prestigious festival to have one’s film screened or awarded. After Cannes, Anurag’s Kennedy goes for IFFSA but there are more hopes for Manoj Bajpayee’s Joram and Kanu Bahl’s Agra, so it seems from audience reactions.
