Gulshan Devaiah recently posted a picture on his social media featuring filmmaker Anurag Kashyap goofing around with some young children. It’s now revealed that the post indicated Kashyap and Devaiah’s involvement in a children’s film.
Kashyap has boarded children’s film ‘Little Thomas’ as a producer making his return to genre 14 years after his animated directorial venture ‘Return of Hanuman’.
‘Little Things’ is a comedy drama film that marks the feature directorial debut of Kaushal Oza and will have its world premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). The film stars Gulshan Devaiah, Rasika Duggal and child actor Hridansh Parekh in lead roles.
Set in 1990s Goa, ‘Little Things’ follows a seven-year-old boy’s attempts to reunite his quarreling parents in hopes of getting a baby brother.
Kashyap who is known for his hard core films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, and was recently seen in crime drama likes ‘Maharaja’ and ‘Bad Cop’ was attracted to ‘Little Things’ because of Oza’s vision of creating a genuine children’s film from a kid’s perspective.
‘Little Thomas’ is produced by Luminoso Pictures, Civic Studios, Flip Films and Kashyap’s Good Bad Films. The film also stars Hridyansh Gokani, Ninad Pandith and Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal.
IFFM is set to start on 15th August and will open with anthology film ‘My Melbourne’ from directors Rima Das, Onir, Imtiaz Ali and Kabir Khan. The festival will close with Shuchi Talati’s Sundance winner ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ on 25th August. ‘Little Things’ is expected to release in theatres in India after its festival run.
