Jeetu Kamal will come back with a new detective for the Bengali film industry. After so many iconic detectives like Feluda, Byomkesh and Kiriti, there will be a new detective and fans are excited for the movie.
The story is written by Dulal Dey, and he himself will be directing the movie. As the makers have stated, the character will be an ‘accidental detective’. He is a medical student and an obsessed cricket fan as well.
Keeping the legacy of the predecessors, the book will be published before the release of the book. Jeetu Kamal was previously offered the role of Kiriti, another famous detective, but it did not happen due to many reasons. Jeetu himself is a wonderful cricket player and his experience will help in the movie.
The working title of the movie is ‘Aranyer Prachin Pravad’. The title is taken from the famous ‘Phantom’ comics by Lee Folk. Bengali rockstar Shilajit will be playing the role of the detective’s brother-in-law. There will be other actors like Rashid Mithila, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Loknath De and many others. Praveen Mukhopadhyay will be handling the cinematography of the film.
Release dates and other details have not been revealed yet. Only time will tell if the film adds up to the magnificent oeuvre of Bengali detectives or becomes a disappointment only.
