Indian entertainment company Applause Entertainment has joined hands with Israel’s Yes Studios. In case you are unaware, Applause Entertainment might be the home of some of your favorite series. They are the leading production house in making original series across Indian OTT.
A big contribution to their slate comes through adapting foreign shows and they do it quite frequently. The next in the line-up is Taanav.
Based on the issue of Kashmir, Taanav coming on SonyLIV is the Indian adaptation of the hit Israeli series Fauda. For SonyLIV itself, Applause had previously adapted “Your Honour” from Yes Studios.
The managing director of Yes Studios said,
“We’ve been just talking to Sharon about a whole new slate that we want to work with and in fact approach, this business in an even more evolved manner where we get in faster and talk more about development at an early stage where we can do things together and collaborate, co-fund and build out content, because I think what everybody needs is a very distinctive kind of storytelling, distinctive kind of thinking, stories that are unique and local and authentic, but yet universal, and that can travel so that they can both be viewed by wider audiences and also be reimagined for different audiences.”
It clearly says that they would be bringing many more shows on Indian OTT which originated in Israel. The partnership will bring pure fiction and ideas based on true events, format adaptations, and book adaptations.
