Apple TV+ has acquired ‘Number One on the Call Sheet’, which will have two documentary features celebrating Black leading women and men in Hollywood. As announced by Apple Original Films, ‘Number One on the Call Sheet’ will come from acclaimed storytellers including Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, Emmy nominee Kevin Hart, prolific producer Datari Turner and Academy Award winner Dan Cogan.
As per Apple TV+, the first documentary film titled ‘Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Women in Hollywood’ will be about celebrating Black achievement in the film industry and what it takes for Black women actors to find success in Hollywood. Also, the film will explore and highlight the groundbreaking work of Black women actors of the past who paved the way for other to come.
Shola Lynch (“Chisholm ’72: Unbought & Unbossed,” “Free Angela and All Political Prisoners”) will serve as the film’s director and it will be executive produced by Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett and Academy Award winner Halle Berry.
‘Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Men in Hollywood’ is the second film ordered by Apple Original Films. Similar to the above this film will celebrate Black achievement in the film industry and what it takes for Black male actors to find success in Hollywood. It will also feature the stories and experiences of Black male actors of the past who paved the way for future Black stars.
‘Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Men in Hollywood’, will be directed by Academy Award nominee Reginald Hudlin (‘Marshall’, ‘The Black Godfather’)
Apple’s ‘Number One on the Call Sheet’ will be produced by Jamie Foxx, Kevin Hart through his HartBeat Productions, Datari Turner and Dan Cogan through Story Syndicate. Both the documentary films will be executive produced by Reginald Hudlin and Bryan Smiley.
Release date of ‘Number One on the Call Sheet’ is yet to be revealed by Apple TV+.
