Apple TV+ Announces Season 2 Of Its Newly Launched Ted Lasso Comedy Series Already!!

Apple TV+ announced that it has already renewed the sports comedy series ‘Ted Lasso’ for a second season, just days after the smashingly hit release of the first season. This sequel season with ten episodes will premiere next year on the platform.

This comedy series has been co-written by Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence. It follows the story of Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) a small-time college football coach from Kansas, who despite having no soccer coaching experience, is hired to coach a professional soccer team in England.

The first was launched on Apple TV+ on 14th August with 3 episodes. Subsequent episodes will release in the following weeks until the season finale on 2nd October. Other than Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Nick Mohammed and fellow co-creator Brendan Hunt are also a part of the show’s cast.

Sudeikis apart form starring in the show also serves as executive producer, alongside Bill Lawrence via his Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt.

Apple TV+ within its first year of launch has been very impressive. From getting into deals with major actors and filmmakers to receiving over a 100 award nominations including 18 Emmy nominations and winning 26 accolades, all just within nine months is a first of its kind phenomenon for any such OTT platform globally.
