Apple TV+ has unveiled the brand new trailer for Stick, an upcoming Golf comedy TV series starring Owen Wilson. The series sees the Loki actor in an interesting character, an ex-pro golfer named Pryce Cahill, whose career came to an end nearly 20 years ago. The clip’s first 30 seconds show Mitts (played Marc Maron) explaining how badly Pryce screwed up his career.
Stick will have a three-episode premiere on June 4 on Apple TV+.
Working a job he dislikes at a sporting goods shop in Indiana, Pryce is also dealing with the unpleasantness of his impending divorce. His life takes a turn when he discovers a promising young golfer named Santi (Peter Dager). Pryce then makes a significant effort to encourage and guide Santi towards becoming a golf champion.
Apart from seeking redemption, Owen Wilson’s character also looks to mend his relationship with his wife (Judy Greer) and find the happiness that he has been craving for a long time.
The rest of the cast includes Mariana Trevino, Timothy Olyphant, Lilli Kay, and features guest appearances from top golf superstars like Keegan Bradley, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Max Homa, and more.
In addition to leading the show’s cast, Wilson also serves as one of its executive producers. Jason Keller (best known for writing Ford v Ferrari, starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon) serves as the showrunner.
