Despite not so favourable reviews to its first set of productions, Apple TV+ is going ahead with the second season of its first big-ticket shows. Yes, The Morning Show, See, Dickinson, and For All Mankind is set for season 2.
The production of some of these series has already commenced whereas others will be on sets soon. The decision to go ahead shows the confidence of Apple in getting the audience attention with these shows. Also, they must be happy with the numbers, internally, as well.
The shows mentioned at the start are star-studded ones. The continuation also means increasing the relationship further with these artists. For example, See headed by Jason Mamoa has been critically drubbed. And still going ahead with it puts immense faith on the creators and artists. It is always good to have them behind you.
But, eventually, numbers matter and money speak. These shows have to succeed. On that count, the audience reception is definitely not as negative or low spirited as the critics. They have loved some of the series. Will, the weekly availability of the shows, be able to hold their attention for long is the crucial aspect here.
