Apple TV+ has joined hands with Academy Award winner John Ridley and Emmy Award winner Carlton Cuse for a new limited series ‘Five Days At Memorial’. The series is based on the eponymous novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink, who will also serve as executive producer for the project.
As per Apple, the novel “chronicles the first five days in a New Orleans hospital after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. When the floodwaters rose, the power failed and the heat climbed, exhausted caregivers were forced to make life-and-death decisions that haunted them for years to come.”
This new limited series from Apple will be directed by John Ridley and produced by ABC Signature. Ridley, known for his works like ’12 Years a Slave’, ‘American Crime’, ‘Guerrilla’, along with Cuse, famous for ‘Locke & Key,’ ‘Jack Ryan,’ ‘Lost’, will work on the project as its showrunners, writers and executive producers.
This new project ‘Five days At Memorial’ follows the line of other anticipated projects based on “best-selling books and award-winning storytellers” from Apple including “Mosquito Coast, starring Justin Theroux; ‘Lisey’s Story,’ written and executive produced by Stephen King and starring Academy Award winner Julianne Moore; and sweeping global series ‘Shantaram’ and ‘Pachinko’.” All these will soon début on Apple TV+.
The release date for ‘Five Days At Memorial’ on Apple TV+ haven’t been announced as of yet.
