Apple TV+ has today ordered renewal of the highly acclaimed espionage series ‘Slow Horses’ for season 3 and 4, before the arrival of the second season. These two new seasons will be the adaptation of the next two novels in the CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning Mick Herron spy series “Slough House”.
Adapted for television by Will Smith (‘Veep’), ‘Slow Horses’, as per Apple TV+, is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House.
Season three of ‘Slow Horses’ will be directed by Saul Metzstein and in this season Jackson Lamb’s disgraced spies work together to foil a rogue agent when one of their own is kidnapped.
On the other hand, season four whose director is yet to be revealed, opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking the already unstable foundations of Slough House.
‘Slow Horses’ stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.
Other than Oldman, the cast of ‘Slow Horses’ includes Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, BAFTA Scotland Award winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Academy Award nominee Jonathan Pryce.
Produced by See-Saw Films for Apple TV+, ‘Slow Horses’ is executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Will Smith, Jane Robertson and Graham Yost.
