Talk about confidence! Apple TV+ has announced the third season of their sports comedy series named ‘Ted Lasso’ as season 2 is still pending to go into production. Ted Lasso debuted in 2019 on Apple TV+ and had a breakout pilot season. The show currently has 8.7 rating in IMDb and holds a fresh rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series is based on the character of Ted Lasso who featured in the promos for Premier League. It has been created by Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly and the man himself Jason Sudeikis. Sudeikis used to appear in the promotional videos for NBC’s coverage of Premier League as Ted Lasso in 2013.
For those who aren’t familiar with the show despite it’s popularity, well here is a brief synopsis. The story follows a small time football coach in America whose life turns upside down when he is hired to coach the professional football team of England. You might think that it’s an awesome opportunity for a person. But how would you feel when you know that Lasso has absolutely no idea whatsoever about being a Soccer coach?
The show is filled with subtle humour about the situations of Lasso and despite coming off as a rube, he is much smarter than he looks!
The show has gained immense popularity since it’s release and that’s why the makers announced a second season just 5 days after the release of season 1. Now again, with the announcement of season 3 coming much before the initiation of S2 production seems like the makers have a good amount of content left with them, which they will continue to share with the audience.
The show stars:- Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed and others.
