Apple, slowly but surely, is building a considerable fanbase for sci-fi, and the recent installment, Constellation, is making quite a buzz in the OTT world, with reviews vouching for this fact. Like a good sci-fi, Constellation doesn’t just focus on a progressing dystopian world; it also delves into the emotional side.
The show opens strong, 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, quote strong opening for a sci-fi show.
So, what’s the deal? Let’s talk about the storyline for a bit.
Astronaut Jo crash-lands back on Earth after a tragic space station accident. But upon re-entry, her world throws her into a tailspin. Her memories are fractured, her young daughter is missing, and even her identity feels altered.
Driven by a gnawing unease, Jo dives into a labyrinthine mystery. Was the accident truly an accident? Why is everything different? Is this a new reality, or a deliberate manipulation?
With each step, Jo uncovers layers of deception, blurring the lines between truth and illusion. Her search for answers becomes a fight for survival as she confronts forces determined to keep her past buried.
And with the interesting storyline, it is paired with some great reviews, including psychological aspects, which are always a good twist in terms of sci-fi. Even when it comes to being dark, it gives similar vibes to Black Mirror’s newest season.
The show also manages to excel at a creative stage, blending a plethora of emotions, significantly different from most ongoing content.
And if this wasn’t enough to make you interested, Apple TV will be bringing Constellation to OTT on February 21st, where you will be able to stream the first three episodes of the show, with new episodes dropping weekly.
