Five Day at Memorial is an Apple TV+ original limited series. It stars Emmy award winner Cherry Jones alongside Vera Farmiga in the lead roles. The script is written by John Ridley and Carlton Cuse which is based on Sheri Fink’s novel ‘Five Days at Memorial’. John Ridley will also be directing this limited series.
The book as well as the series talks about the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. It revolves around the first five days in a New Orleans hospital. Several obstacles had to be overcome as the caregivers were exhausted till the breaking point.
The floodwater has started to rise and the power failed as the temperature started to sore. All these people who were taking care of the afflicted were forced to make life and death decisions and some of them continued to haunt them till years after the incident took place. this forms the basic theme of ‘Five Days at Memorial’.
Cherry Jones will be essaying the role of a hospital nursing director Susan Mulderick who gets designated as the incident commander for Hurricane Katrina. Vera Farmiga will play Dr. Anna Pou who is a doctor on duty when the storm hits them.
Apart from these two power-packed performers, one can also see Adepero Oduye, Cornelius Smith Junior, and Julie Ann Emery as the main supporting cast for the series. Sheri Fink will also serve as the producer.
Chris Jones and Vera Farmiga have a stellar resume and their acting skills have been proven on more occasions than one. Apple TV+ has been upping their game in the OTT space and come up with some fascinating projects. ‘Five Days at Memorial’ promises to be another heartfelt rendition of how people managed to overcome a tragedy.
