Zee5 has dropped the trailer of its upcoming exclusive Hindi film ‘Ardh’, a poor man’s struggle story in the city of dreams. Helmed by Palaash Muchhal, ‘Ardh’ will premiere only on Zee5 on 10th June, 2022 and will be available for free streaming.
The trailer begins with Shiv (Rajpal Yadav), a struggling actor who lives in Mumbai with his family and makes living by dressing as a transgender and asking for alms on the streets.
The community he works with doesn’t know the reality of his gender but he risks it all for the sake of his family’s survival while he keeps trying for opportunities in the film industry. Facing multiple constraints like lack of money, sources, looks, height and more, Shiv loses hope many a times but his wife Madhu (Rubina Dilaik) always stands by him.
There’s also Shiv’s friend Satya (Hiten Tejwani) who wishes the best for him but also makes him realise the truth that at times one’s status limits one’s growth and success and the sooner you come to terms with it the better it is. The rest of the trailer shows how Shiv keeps trying for his dreams relentlessly while enduring the ridicule and failures.
Set in the city of dreams, Zee5 exclusive ’Ardh’ is a story full of drama and heart warming emotions. The film is written and directed by music composer Palaash Muchhal who is making his directorial debut with ‘Ardh’. The film stars Rajpal Yadav, Rubina Dilaik, Hiten Tejwani and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles. Jackie Shroff has done voice over for the film.
