‘Sector 36’ just got released on Netflix on the 13th of September and it is already trending in number 7 at the top 10 list for Netflix globally.
But what really is helping the movie to make it such a big deal. India, particularly Bollywood has produced decent serial killer thrillers once in a while, but it never has been the comfort forte for audiences as well as filmmakers, so why is this film getting this much recognition globally now.
‘Sector 36’ is based on the notorious Nithari case from Delhi and has some slight changes in the story. But the reviews it is getting, on X and on various other platforms, are making audiences more intrigued about it. Vikranth Massey plays the antagonist and has given an impeccable performance in Sector 36 and the movie is being tagged as ‘disturbing’ to the core.
After the massive theatrical success of A rated films and wonderful view records of psychopath thrillers, it is a well known fact that the more disturbing the story, the more chances of attracting an audience it has. The global audience has always been interested in disconcerting stories and the Indian industries too are shifting towards that slowly and gaining more creativity in showing gore and violence.
