Netflix India recently added two iconic crime shows, CID and Crime Patrol City Crimes, to its platform. You’d think nostalgia would bring in viewers, right? Turns out, nobody really cares.
Both shows were once massive hits on Indian television. CID had a legendary run, and Crime Patrol was known for its real-life crime stories. But now? They’ve landed on Netflix with zero buzz. No trending hashtags, no viral clips—just silence.
People simply aren’t watching. The shows feel outdated, the marketing is lazy, and there is no way to create any buzz with this. There’s no excitement, no controversy, nothing fresh to keep audiences hooked. It’s like Netflix added them, and the world just… moved on.
Well, that is perhaps the worst kind of treatment Netflix could possibly get because in this kind of case, nothing truly helps them.
Unlike other old shows that make a big comeback when they hit streaming (Suits), CID and Crime Patrol feel stuck in time. The audience that once loved them has grown up, and the younger crowd? They have way better things to watch.
For example Adolsence on Netflix.
At this point, Netflix might as well remove them quietly—because let’s be honest, nobody would even notice. TV serials are not bringing any profit to Netflix India. Be it these TV series or even The Great Indian Kapil Show.
