After many months, we finally have some updates on Ari Aster’s next A24 project, Eddington, an upcoming Western comedy starring Pedro Pascal, Joaquin Phoenix, Austin Butler, and Emma Stone.
Alongside these prominent talents, the film will also feature Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Ward, Clifton Collins Jr., Cameron Mann, and more.
According to Variety, A24 will be showcasing Eddington at the European Film Market in Berlin. Additionally, this Ari Aster project is reportedly a potential contender for a premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which would be a first for the director. A24 is aiming for a summer release for the film.
A24 is producing the movie alongside Square Peg and will also handle its distribution in the United States. Apart from his directing duties, Aster has co-produced and written the film.
Eddington marks the sixth collaboration between A24 and Square Peg. It is also the fourth Ari Aster film to be produced and distributed by the indie giant, following Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid.
The movie’s storyline is believed to follow a couple stranded in a small New Mexico town. At first, they seem warmly welcomed. However, as night falls, things take a sinister turn. Phoenix reportedly plays the town’s sheriff, a man with highly ambitious dreams.
Eddington is scheduled to hit theatres in the summer of 2025. Stay tuned for more updates!
